Black River Gorges National Park

La Vallee des Couleurs Nature Park

Operational since the 4th July 1998, it is actively engaged in the business of eco-tourism. The fascinating attractions revolve around the indigenous fauna and flora, including the 23-coloured earth which are displayed with the domain. Spread over some 450 acres of land, it is the signature of the Park and constitutes a unique geological feature in this part of the world.

The range of natural landscapes, with its plateaus, mountains, valleys, waterfalls, pools and ponds unfolding inside this green amphitheater provide an unforgettable experience for visitors. Many activities are available such as: Quad Biking, Zip-lines, Nepalese Bridge, Mountain Luge Kart, Trekking and private trips.

Grand Bassin

It is one of the two natural lakes of Mauritius. It rests within the crater of an extinct volcano. Ganga Talao is an important pilgrimage site and many Mauritians of the Hindu faith walk there during the Maha Shivaratri festival.

Volcano Trou aux Cerfs

One of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius is the Trou aux Cerfs dormant volcano located about 1 kilometer from the town of Curepipe. The dormant, volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of around 100 meters. Interestingly, Trou aux Cerfs is also called ‘Murr’s Volcano’.

Grand Bassin

Ganga Talao (commonly known as Grand Bassin in Mauritius) is a crater lake, about 550 metres above sea level, located in the mountainous Southwest district of Savanne.Ganga Talao is a major draw of crowds in Mauritius, with many people visiting the site to pray, meditate, play with the local monkeys, or simply to walk by the lake and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding views.
